Breakout Session J

Breakout 1J: Supporting Better KPIs: Management Dashboards for Gift Officer Behaviors | Salon C-4, LL

Advancement divisions have routine and KPI reporting but these reports often don't provide enough insight into key gift officer behaviors that drive successful performance metrics. At Emory there was a need for managers across the division to be able to review gift officer activity through the data to have conversations about strategy and performance. These strategies and the data needed differed based on the type of fundraising across the division. We'd present how Emory produced interim reports, pulled from our main database, and identified the key data points that gave strategic insights into gift officer performance management, based on the type of fundraising strategies used across the division (Grateful Patient vs Individual Giving vs School/Unit). These reports helped different areas of the division home in on what specific gift officer behaviors could lead to successful KPIs. This work has allowed us to create useful dashboards and visual tools for the identified data points.

Breakout 2J: Organizational Change Management (OCM) for CRM | Salon C-5,LL

Technology can serve as the catalyst for transformative change, but without structured and thoughtful change management, your implementation“ no matter how tested and operational your new technology is “ may prove difficult. During most implementations, resources may be shifted or hired to support core aspects of the implementation including configuration, development, and data conversion, however at times, change management is left to the side. Consistent and thoughtful communication, strategic change readiness activities, intentional tracking of impacts and questions, and detailed planning and preparation for training are only a few of the critical elements to consider during transformational periods of change. During this session, learn how to organize your change management activities to ensure they are proactive, intentional, and timely as we share lessons learned, ways to plan and track your activities and progress and make the case for change management to resistant leaders.
